To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our analysis found Texas A&M University - College Station to be the most popular school for students who want to pursue a doctor’s degree in Texas. Texas A&M University - College Station is a large public school located in College Station, Texas that handed out 1,460 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 49% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since Texas A&M College Station does offer online graduate classes for certain majors. In fact, around 23% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend The University of Texas at Austin. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Doctor’s Degree Schools in Texas list. Located in Austin, Texas, the large public school awarded 1,290 diplomas to qualifed doctor’s degree students in 2020-2021.

Houston, Texas is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out doctor’s degrees to 900 students in 2020-2021.

Some students may be able to take online graduate classes at Baylor. During the 2019-2020 year, about 77% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Doctor’s Degree Schools in Texas ranking. San Antonio, Texas is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out doctor’s degrees to 456 students in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 56% were women.
One thing to take note of is that UT Health San Antonio does offer online graduate classes in some areas. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 1% took at least some of their classes online.

The University of Texas Medical Branch came in at #9 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Doctor’s Degree Schools in Texas ranking. UTMB Galveston is a public institution located in Galveston, Texas. The school has a small population, and it awarded 369 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 57% of those degree recipients were women.
