This report analyzed 13 schools in Oklahoma to see which ones were the most popular doctor's degree programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our analysis found University of Oklahoma - Health Sciences Center to be the most popular school for students who want to pursue a doctor’s degree in Oklahoma. Located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the small public school handed out 442 doctor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
Around 55% of those degree recipients were women.
One thing to take note of is that UOHSC does offer online graduate classes in some areas. During the 2019-2020 year, about 64% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means University of Oklahoma Norman Campus is a great place for students working on their doctor’s degree. University of Oklahoma Norman Campus is a large public school located in Norman, Oklahoma that handed out 378 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 47% were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online graduate classes at University of Oklahoma. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 54% of graduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
Out of the 13 schools in Oklahoma that were part of this year’s ranking, Oklahoma State University - Main Campus landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, the large public school handed out 303 doctor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
Around 57% of those degree recipients were women.
Online graduate courses are available at OSU, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. During the 2019-2020 year, about 60% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Oklahoma City University. The school came in at #4 on this year’s Most Popular Doctor’s Degree Schools in Oklahoma list. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out doctor’s degrees to 160 students in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 56% were women.
One thing to take note of is that OCU does offer online graduate classes in some areas. In fact, around 12% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
You’ll be in good company if you attend University of Tulsa. The school came in at #5 on this year’s Most Popular Doctor’s Degree Schools in Oklahoma list. University of Tulsa is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma and has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 154 doctor’s degrees to qualified students.
Of those students who received their degree, 50% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since University of Tulsa does offer online graduate classes for certain majors. In 2019-2020 about 10% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
Southwestern Oklahoma State University landed the #6 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular doctor’s degree programs. SWOSU is a small public school situated in Weatherford, Oklahoma. It awarded 74 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.

One thing to take note of is that SWOSU does offer online graduate classes in some areas. In fact, around 84% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
With a ranking of #7, Northeastern State University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for students working on their doctor’s degree. This medium-sized public school is located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and it awarded 28 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 50% of those degree recipients were women.
NSU does have options available for those who want to take online graduate classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. In 2019-2020 about 76% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
Langston University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for students to get a doctor’s degree. It came in at #8 on the list. Langston University is a public institution located in Langston, Oklahoma. The school has a small population, and it awarded 14 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 50% were women.
Langston University does offer online graduate classes for certain degree levels. In fact, around 17% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
With a ranking of #9, Northwestern Oklahoma State University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for students working on their doctor’s degree. NWOSU is a small public school situated in Alva, Oklahoma. It awarded 8 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 88% of those degree recipients were women.
One thing to take note of is that NWOSU does offer online graduate classes in some areas. In fact, around 90% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences ranked #10 on this year’s Most Popular Doctor’s Degree Schools in Oklahoma list. Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences is a small public school located in Tulsa, Oklahoma that handed out 126 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 44% of those degree recipients were women.
OSU Center for Health Sciences does have options available for those who want to take online graduate classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 53% took at least some of their classes online.

Phillips Theological Seminary came in at #11 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Doctor’s Degree Schools in Oklahoma ranking. Located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the very small private not-for-profit school handed out 4 doctor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.

With a ranking of #12, Oral Roberts University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for students working on their doctor’s degree. ORU is a private not-for-profit institution located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The school has a small population, and it awarded 1 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
You may have the opportunity to take online graduate classes at ORU. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 31% of graduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
Southern Nazarene University ranked #13 on this year’s Most Popular Doctor’s Degree Schools in Oklahoma list.
One thing to take note of is that SNU does offer online graduate classes in some areas. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 32% took at least some of their classes online.
