Out of all the majors we analyze each year, dance was ranked #161 in the country. In fact 3,288 degrees and certificates were handed out in 2020-2021.

This report analyzed 41 schools in the Southwest Region to see which ones were the most popular programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Dance program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Texas State University the most popular school in the Southwest Region for dance students. Located in the city of San Marcos, Texas State is a public school with a very large student population.

While working on their degree, dance majors at Texas State accumulate an average of around $22,417 in student debt. The average monthly payment of a loan this size is about $184, assuming that the borrower is on a 10-year repayment plan.

Out of the 41 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Arizona landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in the city of Tucson, University of Arizona is a public school with a very large student population.

The excellent programs at Texas Woman’s University helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the best dance schools in the Southwest Region . Located in the midsize city of Denton, TWU is a public college with a fairly large student population.

After completing their degree, dance graduates from TWU carry an average student debt load of $21,500.

Oklahoma City, OK

Out of the 41 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Oklahoma City University landed the # 4 spot on the list. OCU is a small private not-for-profit school located in the large city of Oklahoma City.

The average amount in student loans that dance majors at OCU take out is $25,148. The average monthly payment of a loan this size is about $1,056, assuming that the borrower is on a 10-year repayment plan.
