Out of the majors we analyze each year, health professions was ranked 2nd in New Mexico. In fact, 3,731 were awarded in the state in 2020-2021.

This report analyzed 17 schools in New Mexico to see which ones offered the best value programs for health professions students. The goal was to highlight schools with more affordable prices than others offering similar quality experiences.
Our ranking of value is based on the quality of a program as defined in our per sticker price dollar. More specifically, we discount our quality score by the published tuition and fees charged by a school. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The value is determined by how much quality your dollar buys.
In our regional and nationwide rankings, out-of-state tution and fees are used in our calculations. Average in-state tuition and fees are used for our statewide rankings.
Top 10 Best Health Professions Schools
Our 2023 rankings named Clovis Community College the best value school in New Mexico for health professions students. Located in the remote town of Clovis, Clovis Community College is a public school with a small student population.
The average tuition and fees for an in-state undergraduate at Clovis Community College are $1,616 a year. Health Professions majors at Clovis Community College take out an average of $10,798 in student loans while working on their egree.

The excellent programs at San Juan College helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best health professions schools in New Mexico. SJC is a moderately-sized public school located in the city of Farmington.
In-state tuition fees for undergraduate students at SJC are $1,618 per year. After completing their degree, health professions graduates from SJC carry an average student debtload of $16,171.

Out of the 17 schools in New Mexico that were part of this year’s ranking, Central New Mexico Community College landed the # 3 spot on the list. CNM is a fairly large public school located in the large city of Albuquerque.

In addition to its best value ranking, and one of the reasons why the school is on the list, CNM is ranked #5 for overall quality for health professions in New Mexico.
