Our analysis found Northwestern University to be the most popular school for engineering technologies students who want to pursue a master’s degree in the Great Lakes Region . Northwestern is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Evanston.
Of the 118 students majoring in engineering tech at Northwestern, 63% are male and 37% are female.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Purdue University - Main Campus is a great place for engineering technologies students working on their master’s degree. Purdue is a very large public school located in the city of West Lafayette.

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign landed the #6 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular master’s degree engineering technologies programs. UIUC is a very large public school located in the small city of Champaign.
Of the 62 students majoring in engineering tech at UIUC, 50% are male and 50% are female.

Illinois State University came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Engineering Technologies Master’s Degree Schools in the Great Lakes Region ranking. Located in the midsize suburb of Normal, Illinois State is a public college with a very large student population.
