Our 2023 rankings named University of Chicago the most popular school in the Great Lakes Region for mathematics and statistics students working on their master’s degree. UChicago is a large private not-for-profit school located in the large city of Chicago.

Women make up 45% of the mathematics and statistics majors at the school.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is a great place for mathematics and statistics students working on their master’s degree. Located in the small city of Champaign, UIUC is a public school with a fairly large student population.

Of the 270 students majoring in mathematics and statistics at UIUC, 54% are male and 46% are female.
