This report analyzed 47 schools in the Southwest Region to see which ones were the most popular programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Journalism program at each school on the list.

The following schools top our list of the Most Popular Journalism Colleges.

Our analysis found University of North Texas to be the most popular school for journalism students who want to pursue a degree in the Southwest Region . Located in the city of Denton, UNT is a public school with a fairly large student population.

On average, journalism graduates from UNT take out $21,500 in student loans while working on their degree. Assuming that a graduate chooses a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly loan payment is $262.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Oklahoma Norman Campus. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Journalism Schools in the Southwest Region list. Located in the suburb of Norman, University of Oklahoma is a public college with a fairly large student population.
