To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Course Advisor has created its Most Popular Journalism Master's Degree Schools ranking. Our analysis looked at 77 schools in the United States to see which master's degree programs were the most popular for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Journalism program at each school on the list.

The colleges and universities below are the most popular for journalism majors pursuing a master's degree.

Our analysis found Columbia University in the City of New York to be the most popular school for journalism students who want to pursue a master’s degree in the United States. Located in the city of New York, Columbia is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population.

About 69% of the students majoring in journalism at the school are women while 31% are male.

Syracuse, NY

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Syracuse University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Journalism Master’s Degree Schools list. Syracuse is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the midsize city of Syracuse.

About 65% of the students majoring in journalism at the school are women while 35% are male.

St. Bonaventure University ranked #7 on this year’s Most Popular Journalism Master’s Degree Schools list. St. Bonaventure is a small private not-for-profit school located in the town of Saint Bonaventure.

Of the 39 students majoring in journalism at St. Bonaventure, 46% are male and 54% are female.
