Our analysis looked at 77 schools in the United States to see which master's degree programs were the most popular for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Journalism program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Columbia University in the City of New York the most popular school in the United States for journalism students working on their master’s degree. Located in the large city of New York, Columbia is a private not-for-profit college with a fairly large student population.
About 69% of the students majoring in journalism at the school are women while 31% are male.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Syracuse University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Journalism Master’s Degree Schools list. Syracuse is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the midsize city of Syracuse.
