Our analysis found Lamar University to be the most popular school for students who want to pursue a graduate certificate in Texas. Located in Beaumont, Texas, the fairly large public school handed out 882 graduate certificate awards in 2020-2021.
Around 80% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since Lamar University does offer online graduate classes for certain majors. In fact, around 95% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Texas Tech University is a great place for students working on their graduate certificate. Lubbock, Texas is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out graduate certificates to 516 students in 2020-2021.

The excellent graduate certificate programs at Texas A&M University - College Station helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular schools in Texas. Located in College Station, Texas, the large public school handed out 492 graduate certificate awards in 2020-2021.

Texas A&M College Station does offer online graduate classes for certain degree levels. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 23% took at least some of their classes online.
Out of the 52 schools in Texas that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Houston - Downtown landed the # 4 spot on the list. Houston, Texas is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out graduate certificates to 324 students in 2020-2021.

Depending on your major, you may be able to take online graduate classes at UH Downtown. During the 2019-2020 year, about 98% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
A rank of #5 on this year’s list means The University of Texas at Dallas is a great place for students working on their graduate certificate. This large public school is located in Richardson, Texas, and it awarded 275 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.

The University of Texas at San Antonio did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for students to get a graduate certificate. It came in at #9 on the list. This large public school is located in San Antonio, Texas, and it awarded 174 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.
