To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Music program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named California State University - Northridge the most popular school in California for music students working on their bachelor’s degree. CSUN is a fairly large public school located in the large city of Northridge.

Women make up 36% of the music majors at the school.

The average amount in student loans that music majors at CSUN take out while working on their Bachelor's Degree is $18,655.

Out of the 78 schools in California that were part of this year’s ranking, California State University - Long Beach landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in the large city of Long Beach, CSULB is a public school with a fairly large student population.

About 44% of the students majoring in music at the school are women while 56% are male.

The average amount in student loans that music majors at CSULB take out while working on their Bachelor's Degree is $19,212.

Out of the 78 schools in California that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Southern California landed the # 3 spot on the list. USC is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Los Angeles.

Of the 78 students majoring in music at USC, 71% are male and 29% are female.

When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $639.
