Out of the 48 schools in Massachusetts that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Massachusetts Amherst landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in the suburb of Amherst, UMass Amherst is a public college with a very large student population.

About 52% of the students majoring in history at the school are women while 48% are male.
