Top 10 Most Popular Engineering Doctor's Degree Schools
Our 2023 rankings named University of Florida the most popular school in Florida for engineering students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the medium-sized city of Gainesville, UF is a public college with a very large student population.
About 24% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 76% are male.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means University of Central Florida is a great place for engineering students working on their doctor’s degree. UCF is a fairly large public school located in the suburb of Orlando.
About 22% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 78% are male.
The in-demand doctor’s degree programs at University of South Florida - Main Campus helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular engineering schools in Florida. Located in the city of Tampa, USF Tampa is a public college with a fairly large student population.
About 37% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 63% are male.

Out of the 10 schools in Florida that were part of this year’s ranking, Florida International University landed the # 4 spot on the list. FIU is a very large public school located in the large suburb of Miami.
Women make up 26% of the engineering majors at the school.
The in-demand doctor’s degree programs at University of Miami helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular engineering schools in Florida. U Miami is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the small city of Coral Gables.
Of the 32 students majoring in engineering at U Miami, 66% are male and 34% are female.
Florida Institute of Technology did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for engineering students to get a doctor’s degree. It came in at #6 on the list. Located in the city of Melbourne, Florida Tech is a private not-for-profit school with a moderately-sized student population.
Of the 28 students majoring in engineering at Florida Tech, 93% are male and 7% are female.
With a ranking of #7, Florida State University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for engineering students working on their doctor’s degree. Florida State is a very large public school located in the medium-sized city of Tallahassee.
About 5% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 95% are male.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Daytona Beach landed the #8 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular doctor’s degree engineering programs. Located in the city of Daytona Beach, Embry-Riddle Daytona Beach is a private not-for-profit college with a medium-sized student population.
Of the 11 students majoring in engineering at Embry-Riddle Daytona Beach, 45% are male and 55% are female.
