This report analyzed 65 schools in the Southwest Region to see which ones were the most popular bachelor's degree programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Engineering program at each school on the list.

Our analysis found Texas A&M University - College Station to be the most popular school for engineering students who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree in the Southwest Region . Located in the medium-sized city of College Station, Texas A&M College Station is a public college with a fairly large student population.

Women make up 25% of the engineering majors at the school.

Out of the 65 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Arizona State University - Tempe landed the # 2 spot on the list. ASU - Tempe is a very large public school located in the midsize city of Tempe.

About 23% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 77% are male.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend The University of Texas at Austin. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Popular Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region list. UT Austin is a fairly large public school located in the city of Austin.

Of the 1,295 students majoring in engineering at UT Austin, 71% are male and 29% are female.

Lubbock, TX

Out of the 65 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Texas Tech University landed the # 4 spot on the list. Texas Tech is a fairly large public school located in the city of Lubbock.

Of the 736 students majoring in engineering at Texas Tech, 82% are male and 18% are female.

Houston, TX

University of Houston ranked #7 on this year’s Most Popular Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region list. Located in the city of Houston, UH is a public college with a fairly large student population.
