Out of all the majors we analyze each year, general education was ranked #39 in the country. In fact 29,810 degrees and certificates were handed out in 2020-2021.
With all the programs available today, it can be tough to choose which one is the best for you. With more and more schools offering online options, you could even register for a great program on the other side of the country. On top of that, there are a considerable number of trade schools that offer fast-track entry to many fields.
To help you arm yourself with the information you need to make your decision, Course Advisor has developed this Best Value General Education Schools in the Far Western US Region ranking. Our analysis looked at 80 schools in the Far Western US Region to see which programs offered the best value experiences for education students with the aim of identifying those quality schools that are more affordable than some of their counterparts.
Our ranking of value is based on the quality of a program as defined in our per sticker price dollar. More specifically, we discount our quality score by the published tuition and fees charged by a school. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The value is determined by how much quality your dollar buys.
In our regional and nationwide rankings, out-of-state tution and fees are used in our calculations. Average in-state tuition and fees are used for our statewide rankings.

Top 15% Best General Education Schools
Our 2023 rankings named Whitworth University the best value school in the Far Western US Region for general education students. Whitworth is a small private not-for-profit school located in the large suburb of Spokane.
The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state undergraduate student at Whitworth are $47,590 a year.
The excellent programs at Brandman University helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best general education schools in the Far Western US Region . Located in the large city of Irvine, Brandman is a private not-for-profit college with a moderately-sized student population.
