To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from schools with online programs.

Top 10 Most Popular Online Journalism Schools
Our analysis found Colorado State University - Fort Collins to be the most popular school for journalism students who want to pursue an online degree in the United States. Colorado State is a very large public school located in the medium-sized city of Fort Collins.
On average, journalism graduates from Colorado State take out $23,250 in student loans while working on their degree. When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $468.

The excellent online programs at University of Florida helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best journalism schools in the United States. UF is a fairly large public school located in the midsize city of Gainesville.

University of Arkansas at Little Rock landed the #6 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best journalism programs. UA Little Rock is a medium-sized public school located in the city of Little Rock.
With a ranking of #7, Southern Illinois University Carbondale did quite well on this year’s best schools for journalism students. Located in the city of Carbondale, SIUC is a public school with a large student population.
On average, journalism graduates from SIUC take out $25,000 in student loans while working on their degree.

Wilmington University came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Online Journalism Schools ranking. Located in the large suburb of New Castle, Wilmington University is a private not-for-profit school with a large student population.
University of Massachusetts Amherst ranked #9 on this year’s Most Popular Online Journalism Schools list. UMass Amherst is a fairly large public school located in the suburb of Amherst.
