Our analysis looked at 38 schools in Florida to see which graduate certificate programs were the most popular for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named University of Florida the most popular school in Florida for students working on their graduate certificate. UF is a large public school situated in Gainesville, Florida. It awarded 1,016 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.
Around 67% of those degree recipients were women.
Online graduate courses are available at UF, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. During the 2019-2020 year, about 79% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means University of Central Florida is a great place for students working on their graduate certificate. University of Central Florida is a large public school located in Orlando, Florida that handed out 499 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.
Graduate Certificate recipients from UCF accumulate an average of $18,102 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 78% of those degree recipients were women.
Some students may be able to take online graduate classes at UCF. In 2019-2020 about 79% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
The excellent graduate certificate programs at Nova Southeastern University helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular schools in Florida. This large private not-for-profit school is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and it awarded 217 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.

You’ll be in good company if you attend Florida Atlantic University. The school came in at #5 on this year’s Most Popular Graduate Certificate Schools in Florida list. FAU is a public institution located in Boca Raton, Florida. The school has a large population, and it awarded 174 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.

St. Thomas University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for students to get a graduate certificate. It came in at #8 on the list. STU is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school situated in Miami Gardens, Florida. It awarded 72 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.
On average, graduate certificate students take out $18,534 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 64% were women.

Florida State University landed the #9 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular graduate certificate programs. Florida State is a public institution located in Tallahassee, Florida. The school has a large population, and it awarded 53 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.
On average, graduate certificate students take out $21,686 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 77% were women.

Full Sail University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for students to get a graduate certificate. It came in at #10 on the list. Located in Winter Park, Florida, the large private for-profit school handed out 40 graduate certificate awards in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 45% were women.
Since the graduate programs at Full Sail University are primarily online school, so it is a great choice for returning adults and students who work full time.
The University of West Florida came in at #11 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Graduate Certificate Schools in Florida ranking. UWF is located in Pensacola, Florida and has a fairly large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 38 graduate certificates to qualified students.
Of those students who received their degree, 74% were women.
One thing to take note of is that UWF does offer online graduate classes in some areas. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 95% took at least some of their classes online.
University of North Florida landed the #12 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular graduate certificate programs. UNF is a public institution located in Jacksonville, Florida. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 35 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 94% were women.
UNF does offer online graduate classes for certain degree levels. In 2019-2020 about 94% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
Jacksonville University came in at #13 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Graduate Certificate Schools in Florida ranking. JU is a small private not-for-profit school situated in Jacksonville, Florida. It awarded 33 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.

One thing to take note of is that SEU does offer online graduate classes in some areas. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 78% of graduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
With a ranking of #15, The University of Tampa did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for students working on their graduate certificate. UT is a private not-for-profit institution located in Tampa, Florida. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 16 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.
Around 94% of those degree recipients were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online graduate classes at UT. During the 2019-2020 year, about 25% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
University of South Florida - Main Campus ranked #17 on this year’s Most Popular Graduate Certificate Schools in Florida list. USF Tampa is a public institution located in Tampa, Florida. The school has a large population, and it awarded 15 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 73% were women.
USF Tampa does offer online graduate classes for certain degree levels. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 69% took at least some of their classes online.
