To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named University of Pennsylvania the most popular school in Pennsylvania for students working on their doctor’s degree. UPenn is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 1,254 doctor’s degrees to qualified students.
Of those students who received their degree, 55% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since UPenn does offer online graduate classes for certain majors. During the 2019-2020 year, about 74% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
The excellent doctor’s degree programs at Temple University helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular schools in Pennsylvania. Out of the 75 schools in Pennsylvania that were part of this year’s ranking, Drexel University landed the # 4 spot on the list. Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the large private not-for-profit school awarded 731 diplomas to qualifed doctor’s degree students in 2020-2021.
Around 56% of those degree recipients were women.
