This report analyzed 25 schools in Connecticut to see which ones were the most popular bachelor's degree programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named University of Connecticut the most popular school in Connecticut for students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in Storrs, Connecticut, the large public school awarded 5,991 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2020-2021.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at UCONN is $18,524. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $41,192. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $22,048 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 55% were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since UCONN does offer online classes for certain majors. In fact, around 99% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Central Connecticut State University is a great place for students working on their bachelor’s degree. CCSU is located in New Britain, Connecticut and has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 1,906 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
In-state students pay an average of $11,542 in tuition and fees if they attend CCSU full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $24,946. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $24,350 in student loans. Around 51% of those degree recipients were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at CCSU. During the 2019-2020 year, about 99% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
The excellent bachelor’s degree programs at Quinnipiac University helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular schools in Connecticut. Quinnipiac is located in Hamden, Connecticut and has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 1,900 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
Quinnipiac does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $51,270. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $22,854 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 62% were women.

Out of the 25 schools in Connecticut that were part of this year’s ranking, Southern Connecticut State University landed the # 4 spot on the list. Located in New Haven, Connecticut, the medium-sized public school handed out 1,719 bachelor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at SCSU is $11,882. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $25,286. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $24,577 in student loans. Of those students who received their degree, 66% were women.

If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $45,230 to cover tuition and fees at Sacred Heart. The school does not offer an in-state discount. With a ranking of #7, Post University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for students working on their bachelor’s degree. Post University is a private for-profit institution located in Waterbury, Connecticut. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 1,126 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
The average tuition and fees at Post University is $15,458. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from Post University accumulate an average of $36,090 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 47% of those degree recipients were women.

Fairfield University landed the #8 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular bachelor’s degree programs. This medium-sized private not-for-profit school is located in Fairfield, Connecticut, and it awarded 1,066 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
The average tuition and fees at Fairfield U is $52,870. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. Students from Connecticut who attend WestConn full time pay an average of $11,781 in tuition and fees. Out-of-state students pay an average of $25,185. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $24,979 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 55% were women.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at WestConn. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 96% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
University of Hartford landed the #11 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular bachelor’s degree programs. West Hartford, Connecticut is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 1,025 students in 2020-2021.
If you want to attend UHart, expect to pay an average of $44,885 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their bachelor’s degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $25,927 in student loans. Around 52% of those degree recipients were women.

Eastern Connecticut State University ranked #12 on this year’s Most Popular Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Connecticut list. Located in Willimantic, Connecticut, the small public school awarded 1,013 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2020-2021.
Full-time students from Connecticut pay an average of $12,304 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend ECSU. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $25,708. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from ECSU accumulate an average of $22,336 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 64% were women.

University of New Haven ranked #13 on this year’s Most Popular Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Connecticut list. Located in West Haven, Connecticut, the medium-sized private not-for-profit school awarded 1,055 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2020-2021.
The average tuition and fees at University of New Haven is $42,898. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $24,698 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 57% were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at University of New Haven. During the 2019-2020 year, about 37% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
University of Bridgeport came in at #14 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Connecticut ranking. Located in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the small private not-for-profit school awarded 689 diplomas to qualifed bachelor’s degree students in 2020-2021.
The average tuition and fees at UBridgeport is $35,760. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. With a ranking of #19, United States Coast Guard Academy did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for students working on their bachelor’s degree. USCGA is located in New London, Connecticut and has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 252 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
Around 34% of those degree recipients were women.
Albertus Magnus College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for students to get a bachelor’s degree. It came in at #20 on the list.
