Our 2023 rankings named Delaware Technical Community College - Terry the most popular school in Delaware for students working on their associate degree. Dover, Delaware is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associate degrees to 1,685 students in 2020-2021.
Full-time students from Delaware pay an average of $4,945 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Delaware Tech. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $11,808. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $12,683 in student loans. Around 69% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since Delaware Tech does offer online classes for certain majors. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 93% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
You’ll be in good company if you attend University of Delaware. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Most Popular Associate Degree Schools in Delaware list. UD is located in Newark, Delaware and has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 325 associate degrees to qualified students.
Students from Delaware who attend UD full time pay an average of $15,020 in tuition and fees. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $36,880. Associate Degree recipients from UD accumulate an average of $7,512 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 56% of those degree recipients were women.
Some students may be able to take online classes at UD. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 100% took at least some of their classes online.
The excellent associate degree programs at Wilmington University helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular schools in Delaware. Located in New Castle, Delaware, the fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 52 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2020-2021.
Wilmington University does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $11,760. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. Associate Degree recipients from Wilmington University accumulate an average of $29,571 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 60% of those degree recipients were women.
Online courses are available at Wilmington University, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. In 2019-2020 about 85% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
A rank of #4 on this year’s list means Delaware College of Art and Design is a great place for students working on their associate degree. Wilmington, Delaware is the setting for this very small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out associate degrees to 38 students in 2020-2021.
The average tuition and fees at DCAD is $25,770. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. Of those students who received their degree, 68% were women.
Since DCAD is primarily an online school, it is an excellent choice for undergraduate students who need more flexibility than what is offered at some other schools.

Since Strayer University - Delaware is primarily an online school, it is an excellent choice for undergraduate students who need more flexibility than what is offered at some other schools.
Wesley College came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Associate Degree Schools in Delaware ranking. Located in Dover, Delaware, the very small private not-for-profit school awarded 3 diplomas to qualifed associate degree students in 2020-2021.
Around 100% of those degree recipients were women.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at Wesley College. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 74% took at least some of their classes online.
