Our 2023 rankings named Central New Mexico Community College the best school in New Mexico for students working on their undergraduate certificate.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at CNM is $1,684. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $7,540. On average, undergraduate certificate students take out $14,711 in loans while pursuing their degree.
Online courses are available at CNM, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. During the 2019-2020 year, about 90% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
The excellent undergraduate certificate programs at University of New Mexico - Taos Campus helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best schools in New Mexico.

The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Clovis Community College is $1,616. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $2,984. Undergraduate Certificate recipients from Clovis Community College accumulate an average of $13,102 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.

A rank of #4 on this year’s list means University of New Mexico - Gallup Campus is a great place for students working on their undergraduate certificate.
Full-time students from New Mexico pay an average of $1,932 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend UNM Gallup. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $4,708. Undergraduate Certificate recipients from UNM Gallup accumulate an average of $16,983 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.

Institute of American Indian and Alaska Native Culture and Arts Development landed the #14 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best undergraduate certificate programs.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $5,321 to cover tuition and fees at Institute of American Indian Arts. The school does not offer an in-state discount.
