This report analyzed 19 schools in the Far Western US Region to see which ones were the most popular doctor's degree programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Economics program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named University of California - Berkeley the most popular school in the Far Western US Region for economics students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the city of Berkeley, UC Berkeley is a public college with a very large student population.
Of the 38 students majoring in economics at UC Berkeley, 63% are male and 37% are female.
