To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Social Work program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named New York University the most popular school in the Middle Atlantic Region for social work students working on their doctor’s degree. NYU is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the large city of New York.

About 89% of the students majoring in social work at the school are women while 11% are male.

University of Pennsylvania

Philadelphia, PA

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Pennsylvania. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Social Work Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. UPenn is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the large city of Philadelphia.

Of the 17 students majoring in social work at UPenn, 18% are male and 82% are female.
