About 40% of the students majoring in materials science at the school are women while 60% are male.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means University of California - Santa Barbara is a great place for materials sciences students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the suburb of Santa Barbara, UCSB is a public college with a very large student population.

Of the 18 students majoring in materials science at UCSB, 56% are male and 44% are female.
