Out of all the majors we analyze each year, chemistry was ranked #51 in the country. In fact 21,239 degrees and certificates were handed out in 2020-2021.

To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Course Advisor has created its Most Popular Chemistry Schools in the Southeast Region ranking. This report analyzed 308 schools in the Southeast Region to see which ones were the most popular programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Chemistry program at each school on the list.

The following schools top our list of the Most Popular Chemistry Colleges.

Our analysis found University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to be the most popular school for chemistry students who want to pursue a degree in the Southeast Region . UNC Chapel Hill is a fairly large public school located in the small city of Chapel Hill.

On average, chemistry graduates from UNC Chapel Hill take out $15,000 in student loans while working on their degree.

Gainesville, FL

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Florida. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Chemistry Schools in the Southeast Region list. UF is a very large public school located in the midsize city of Gainesville.

On average, chemistry graduates from UF take out $14,368 in student loans while working on their degree. When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $134.
