This report analyzed 142 schools in the Plains States Region to see which ones were the most popular bachelor's degree programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Mathematics program at each school on the list.

The colleges and universities below are the most popular for math majors pursuing a bachelor's degree.

Our 2023 rankings named University of Minnesota - Twin Cities the most popular school in the Plains States Region for mathematics students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in the large city of Minneapolis, UMN Twin Cities is a public college with a fairly large student population.

Of the 213 students majoring in math at UMN Twin Cities, 60% are male and 40% are female.

On average, math graduates from UMN Twin Cities take out $21,253 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree. This translates to an average monthly loan payment of $191, based on a 10-year repayment plan.

Out of the 142 schools in the Plains States Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Nebraska - Lincoln landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in the large city of Lincoln, UNL is a public college with a fairly large student population.

Of the 100 students majoring in math at UNL, 75% are male and 25% are female.
