To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the History program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill the most popular school in the Southeast Region for history students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the city of Chapel Hill, UNC Chapel Hill is a public school with a very large student population.

About 45% of the students majoring in history at the school are women while 55% are male.
