This report analyzed 60 schools in the United States to see which ones were the most popular graduate certificate programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the History program at each school on the list.

Our analysis found American Public University System to be the most popular school for history students who want to pursue a graduate certificate in the United States. American Military University is a very large private for-profit school located in the town of Charles Town.

Of the 47 students majoring in history at American Military University, 79% are male and 21% are female.

Out of the 60 schools in the United States that were part of this year’s ranking, Columbia University in the City of New York landed the # 2 spot on the list. Columbia is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the city of New York.

Women make up 64% of the history majors at the school.

Lynchburg, VA

Out of the 60 schools in the United States that were part of this year’s ranking, Liberty University landed the # 3 spot on the list. Liberty University is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the small city of Lynchburg.

About 25% of the students majoring in history at the school are women while 75% are male.

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means University of Missouri - St Louis is a great place for history students working on their graduate certificate. Located in the suburb of Saint Louis, UMSL is a public school with a large student population.

Fairfax, VA

The in-demand graduate certificate programs at George Mason University helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular history schools in the United States. GMU is a fairly large public school located in the large suburb of Fairfax.

Women make up 57% of the history majors at the school.

Located in the large city of Arlington, UT Arlington is a public school with a very large student population.

Of the 7 students majoring in history at UT Arlington, 14% are male and 86% are female.
