To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Course Advisor has created its Most Popular Engineering Schools in the New England Region ranking. This report analyzed 84 schools in the New England Region to see which ones were the most popular programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Engineering program at each school on the list.

Our analysis found Northeastern University to be the most popular school for engineering students who want to pursue a degree in the New England Region . Located in the city of Boston, Northeastern is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population.

While working on their degree, engineering majors at Northeastern accumulate an average of around $25,659 in student debt. For students who choose a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly student loan payment is $412.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Most Popular Engineering Schools in the New England Region list. Located in the midsize city of Worcester, WPI is a private not-for-profit college with a moderately-sized student population.

While working on their degree, engineering majors at WPI accumulate an average of around $26,950 in student debt. The average monthly payment of a loan this size is about $538, assuming that the borrower is on a 10-year repayment plan.

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means Massachusetts Institute of Technology is a great place for engineering students. Located in the city of Cambridge, MIT is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population.

After completing their degree, engineering graduates from MIT carry an average student debt load of $11,567. For students who choose a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly student loan payment is $535.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Connecticut. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Most Popular Engineering Schools in the New England Region list. UCONN is a very large public school located in the suburb of Storrs.

On average, engineering graduates from UCONN take out $24,661 in student loans while working on their degree. When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $423.
