Our 2023 rankings named University of Michigan - Ann Arbor the most popular school in the Great Lakes Region for engineering students working on their master’s degree. U-M is a very large public school located in the city of Ann Arbor.
Of the 1,221 students majoring in engineering at U-M, 72% are male and 28% are female.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Purdue University - Main Campus is a great place for engineering students working on their master’s degree. Purdue is a very large public school located in the small city of West Lafayette.
About 29% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 71% are male.

Out of the 57 schools in the Great Lakes Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign landed the # 3 spot on the list. UIUC is a fairly large public school located in the small city of Champaign.
