Our 2023 rankings named Rice University the most popular school in the Southwest Region for biomedical engineering students working on their doctor’s degree. Rice is a moderately-sized private not-for-profit school located in the city of Houston.

Of the 19 students majoring in bio engineering at Rice, 37% are male and 63% are female.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means The University of Texas at Austin is a great place for biomedical engineering students working on their doctor’s degree. UT Austin is a fairly large public school located in the large city of Austin.

About 59% of the students majoring in bio engineering at the school are women while 41% are male.
