Our 2023 rankings named University of Houston the most popular school in the Southwest Region for mechanical engineering technology students. Located in the city of Houston, UH is a public college with a fairly large student population.

While working on their degree, ME tech majors at UH accumulate an average of around $25,000 in student debt.

Out of the 21 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Oklahoma State University - Main Campus landed the # 2 spot on the list. OSU is a very large public school located in the town of Stillwater.

After completing their degree, ME tech graduates from OSU carry an average student debt load of $25,753. This translates to an average monthly loan payment of $415, based on a 10-year repayment plan.

The school came in at #3 on this year’s Most Popular Mechanical Engineering Schools in the Southwest Region list.
