Out of all the majors we analyze each year, other education was ranked #140 in the country. In fact 4,858 degrees and certificates were handed out in 2020-2021.
When it comes to higher education, there are a lot of options for students. As online education oppotunities continue to grow, you're not restricted to just schools in your local area anymore. To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Course Advisor has created its Best Value Other Education Schools in the Plains States Region ranking. Our analysis looked at 22 schools in the Plains States Region to see which programs offered the best value experiences for other education students with the aim of identifying those quality schools that are more affordable than some of their counterparts.
This ranking is not just a list of inexpensive schools. We also consider each school's quality, since we believe a low-quality school may not be a 'bargain' at any price. More specifically, we discount our quality score by the published tuition and fees charged by a school. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The value is determined by how much quality your dollar buys.
For nationwide and regional rankings, we use out-of-state tuition and fees in our calculations. Average in-state tuition and fees are used for our statewide rankings.

Our analysis found Central Methodist University - College of Graduate & Extended Studies to be the best value school for other education students who want to pursue a degree in the Plains States Region . Located in the distant town of Fayette, CMU CGES is a private not-for-profit school with a small student population.

The excellent programs at University of Minnesota - Duluth helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the best other education schools in the Plains States Region . Located in the city of Duluth, UMN Duluth is a public college with a moderately-sized student population.
UMN Duluth undergraduate students pay an average of $19,148 in tuition and fees each year. The average amount in student loans that other education majors at UMN Duluth take out is $27,000. When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $168.

Martin Luther College ranked #6 on this year’s Best Value Other Education Schools in the Plains States Region list. MLC is a small private not-for-profit school located in the town of New Ulm.

Webster University came in at #9 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Other Education Schools in the Plains States Region ranking. Located in the suburb of Saint Louis, Webster is a private not-for-profit school with a moderately-sized student population.

University of Nebraska - Lincoln did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best value schools for other education students. It came in at #10 on the list. UNL is a very large public school located in the large city of Lincoln.
