This report analyzed 89 schools in the New England Region to see which ones were the most popular programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Computer Science program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Massachusetts Institute of Technology the most popular school in the New England Region for computer science students. Located in the city of Cambridge, MIT is a private not-for-profit college with a fairly large student population.

CompSci majors at MIT take out an average of $10,538 in student loans while working on their egree. Assuming that a graduate chooses a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly loan payment is $682.

The excellent programs at University of Massachusetts Amherst helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best computer science schools in the New England Region . UMass Amherst is a very large public school located in the suburb of Amherst.

On average, compsci graduates from UMass Amherst take out $23,250 in student loans while working on their degree.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Boston University. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Popular Computer Science Schools in the New England Region list. Boston U is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Boston.
