This report analyzed 21 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region to see which ones were the most popular doctor's degree programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Computer Science program at each school on the list.

Stony Brook, NY

Our analysis found Stony Brook University to be the most popular school for computer science students who want to pursue a doctor’s degree in the Middle Atlantic Region . Located in the large suburb of Stony Brook, SUNY Stony Brook is a public school with a fairly large student population.

Of the 36 students majoring in compsci at SUNY Stony Brook, 86% are male and 14% are female.

Carnegie Mellon University

Pittsburgh, PA

Out of the 21 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Carnegie Mellon University landed the # 2 spot on the list. Carnegie Mellon is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Pittsburgh.

About 10% of the students majoring in compsci at the school are women while 90% are male.

Out of the 21 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Cornell University landed the # 4 spot on the list. Located in the small city of Ithaca, Cornell is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population.

Of the 25 students majoring in compsci at Cornell, 80% are male and 20% are female.

A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Columbia University in the City of New York is a great place for computer science students working on their doctor’s degree. Columbia is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the city of New York.

With a ranking of #6, The Graduate Center, CUNY did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for computer science students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the city of New York, The Graduate Center is a public college with a medium-sized student population.

Of the 16 students majoring in compsci at The Graduate Center, 50% are male and 50% are female.
