To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Journalism program at each school on the list.

Our analysis found Syracuse University to be the most popular school for journalism students who want to pursue a degree in the Middle Atlantic Region . Located in the medium-sized city of Syracuse, Syracuse is a private not-for-profit college with a very large student population.

On average, journalism graduates from Syracuse take out $26,949 in student loans while working on their degree. The average monthly payment of a loan this size is about $557, assuming that the borrower is on a 10-year repayment plan.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means University of Maryland - College Park is a great place for journalism students. UMCP is a fairly large public school located in the large suburb of College Park.

After completing their degree, journalism graduates from UMCP carry an average student debt load of $21,375. When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $756.
