Our 2023 rankings named Trevecca Nazarene University the most popular school in Tennessee for students working on their doctor’s degree. TNU is a small private not-for-profit school situated in Nashville, Tennessee. It awarded 164 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 78% were women.
Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 66% took at least some of their classes online.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Lipscomb University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Online Doctor’s Degree Schools in Tennessee list. Johnson University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for students to get a doctor’s degree. It came in at #10 on the list. Located in Knoxville, Tennessee, the very small private not-for-profit school awarded 8 diplomas to qualifed doctor’s degree students in 2020-2021.
Around 13% of those degree recipients were women.

Huntington University of Health Sciences did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for students to get a doctor’s degree. It came in at #11 on the list. HUHS is a very small private for-profit school situated in Knoxville, Tennessee. It awarded 2 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 100% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, HUHS is an excellent choice, since graduate classes are offered online.
