Our analysis looked at 54 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region to see which online doctor's degree programs were the most popular for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from schools with online programs.

Our analysis found Wilkes University to be the most popular school for students who want to pursue a doctor’s degree in the Middle Atlantic Region . Wilkes is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school situated in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. It awarded 134 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 72% of those degree recipients were women.
Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 97% took at least some of their classes online.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Wilmington University is a great place for students working on their doctor’s degree. This fairly large private not-for-profit school is located in New Castle, Delaware, and it awarded 160 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Located in Washington, District of Columbia, the fairly large private not-for-profit school handed out 567 doctor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 62% were women.
During the 2019-2020 year, about 24% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Chatham University is a great place for students working on their doctor’s degree. Chatham University is a small private not-for-profit school located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that handed out 149 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Won Institute of Graduate Studies landed the #11 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular doctor’s degree programs. Won Institute of Graduate Studies is located in Glenside, Pennsylvania and has a very small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 31 doctor’s degrees to qualified students.
Around 71% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, Won Institute of Graduate Studies is an excellent choice, since graduate classes are offered online.
Thomas Jefferson University ranked #13 on this year’s Most Popular Online Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. This medium-sized private not-for-profit school is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and it awarded 449 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 58% of those degree recipients were women.
