Our 2023 rankings named Indiana University - Bloomington the best school in Indiana for students working on their undergraduate certificate.
In-state students pay an average of $11,333 in tuition and fees if they attend IU Bloomington full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $38,352. On average, undergraduate certificate students take out $18,440 in loans while pursuing their degree.
Online courses are available at IU Bloomington, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. In fact, around 99% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
Out of the 10 schools in Indiana that were part of this year’s ranking, Indiana University - Purdue University - Indianapolis landed the # 2 spot on the list.
Students from Indiana who attend IUPUI full time pay an average of $10,044 in tuition and fees. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $32,101. Undergraduate Certificate recipients from IUPUI accumulate an average of $24,901 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at IUPUI. In 2019-2020 about 96% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Vincennes University. The school came in at #3 on this year’s Best Undergraduate Certificate Schools in Indiana list.
In-state students pay an average of $6,449 in tuition and fees if they attend Vincennes University full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $15,253. Undergraduate Certificate recipients from Vincennes University accumulate an average of $17,198 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at Vincennes University. In fact, around 16% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
A rank of #4 on this year’s list means Indiana Wesleyan University - National & Global is a great place for students working on their undergraduate certificate.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $9,239 to cover tuition and fees at IWU. The school does not offer an in-state discount.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since IWU does offer online classes for certain majors. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 94% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.

A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Ivy Tech Community College is a great place for students working on their undergraduate certificate.
In-state students pay an average of $4,637 in tuition and fees if they attend Ivy Tech Community College full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $8,927. On average, undergraduate certificate students take out $15,607 in loans while pursuing their degree.
One thing to take note of is that Ivy Tech Community College does offer online classes in some areas. During the 2019-2020 year, about 81% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Purdue University Global came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Best Undergraduate Certificate Schools in Indiana ranking.
Full-time students from Indiana pay an average of $10,125 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Purdue University Global. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $14,436. By the time they get their undergraduate certificate, students from this school have racked up an average of $25,711 in student loans.
Purdue University Global is one of the schools on our list that is primarily online. Each undergraduate student at the school took at least one class online.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College ranked #7 on this year’s Best Undergraduate Certificate Schools in Indiana list.
SMWC does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $30,550. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. By the time they get their undergraduate certificate, students from this school have racked up an average of $32,585 in student loans.
One thing to take note of is that SMWC does offer online classes in some areas. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 56% took at least some of their classes online.
University of Southern Indiana landed the #8 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best undergraduate certificate programs.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at USI is $9,509. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $21,812.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at USI. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 67% took at least some of their classes online.
International Business College - Indianapolis did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for students to get an undergraduate certificate. It came in at #9 on the list.
Some students may be able to take online classes at International Business College - Indianapolis. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 75% took at least some of their classes online.
With a ranking of #10, Indiana University - Northwest did quite well on this year’s best schools for students working on their undergraduate certificate.
Students from Indiana who attend IU Northwest full time pay an average of $7,827 in tuition and fees. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $20,934. Undergraduate Certificate recipients from IU Northwest accumulate an average of $16,384 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since IU Northwest does offer online classes for certain majors. During the 2019-2020 year, about 93% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
