Out of all the majors we analyze each year, music was ranked #43 in the country. In fact 25,910 degrees and certificates were handed out in 2020-2021.

To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Course Advisor has created its Best Value Music Bachelor's Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region ranking. Our analysis looked at 24 schools in the Rocky Mountains Region to see which bachelor's degree programs offered the best value experiences for music students with the aim of identifying those quality schools that are more affordable than some of their counterparts.

Our ranking of value is based on the quality of a program as defined in our per sticker price dollar. Specifically, our score for quality is discounted by the published tuition and fees charged by the given college. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The more quality your dollar buys, the better the value.

In our regional and nationwide rankings, out-of-state tution and fees are used in our calculations. For statewide rankings, we use average in-state tuition and fees.

Top 10 Best Music Bachelor's Degree Schools

Our analysis found Brigham Young University - Provo to be the best value school for music students who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree in the Rocky Mountains Region . BYU is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the medium-sized city of Provo.

Out-of-state tuition fees for undergraduate students at BYU are $6,120 per year. On average, music graduates from BYU take out $17,560 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree.

Out of the 24 schools in the Rocky Mountains Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Wyoming landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in the remote town of Laramie, UW is a public college with a large student population.

With a ranking of #6, University of Idaho did quite well on this year’s best value schools for music students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in the distant town of Moscow, U of I is a public school with a large student population.

University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus landed the #9 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best value bachelor’s degree music programs. Located in the city of Denver, CU Anschutz is a public school with a very large student population.

CU Anschutz undergraduate students pay an average of $26,376 in tuition and fees each year. On average, music graduates from CU Anschutz take out $24,980 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree. When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $289.
