Our analysis looked at 9 schools in the Southwest Region to see which programs offered the best value experiences for air transport students with the aim of identifying those quality schools that are more affordable than some of their counterparts.
When determining this ranking, we place a high emphasis on the school's quality as well as its sticker price. Even though a college may be affordable, it may not offer value. More specifically, we discount our quality score by the published tuition and fees charged by a school. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The value is determined by how much quality your dollar buys.
Our calculations use out-of-state tuition and fees in our nationwide and regional rankings. Average in-state tuition and fees are used for our statewide rankings.
Best Southwest Region Schools for Affordable Quality in Air Transportation
Our analysis found Eastern New Mexico University - Main Campus to be the best value school for air transportation students who want to pursue a degree in the Southwest Region . Located in the town of Portales, ENMU - Main Campus is a public school with a small student population.
The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state undergraduate student at ENMU - Main Campus are $8,568 a year. After completing their degree, air transport graduates from ENMU - Main Campus carry an average student debtload of $11,779.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Central New Mexico Community College. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Best Value Air Transportation Schools in the Southwest Region list. CNM is a fairly large public school located in the city of Albuquerque.
The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state undergraduate student at CNM are $7,540 a year.

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means University of North Texas is a great value for air transportation students. UNT is a fairly large public school located in the midsize city of Denton.
The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state undergraduate student at UNT are $20,906 a year. The average amount in student loans that air transport majors at UNT take out is $23,187.

The school came in at #4 on this year’s Best Value Air Transportation Schools in the Southwest Region list. Located in the rural area of Prescott, Embry-Riddle Prescott is a private not-for-profit school with a small student population.
The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state undergraduate student at Embry-Riddle Prescott are $38,966 a year. The average amount in student loans that air transport majors at Embry-Riddle Prescott take out is $22,010. The average monthly payment of a loan this size is about $1,177, assuming that the borrower is on a 10-year repayment plan.
