Our 2023 rankings named George Mason University the most popular school in Virginia for political science and government students working on their bachelor’s degree. GMU is a fairly large public school located in the large suburb of Fairfax.

About 52% of the students majoring in political science at the school are women while 48% are male.

Political Science majors at GMU take out an average of $22,674 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree. This translates to an average monthly loan payment of $492, based on a 10-year repayment plan.

Out of the 36 schools in Virginia that were part of this year’s ranking, Virginia Commonwealth University landed the # 2 spot on the list. VCU is a very large public school located in the midsize city of Richmond.

About 52% of the students majoring in political science at the school are women while 48% are male.

While working on their Bachelor's Degree, political science majors at VCU accumulate an average of around $22,900 in student debt. The average monthly payment of a loan this size is about $182, assuming that the borrower is on a 10-year repayment plan.

Out of the 36 schools in Virginia that were part of this year’s ranking, Virginia Tech landed the # 3 spot on the list. Virginia Tech is a very large public school located in the city of Blacksburg.
