Our analysis looked at 20 schools in Washington to see which programs offered the best value experiences for psychology students with the aim of identifying those quality schools that are more affordable than some of their counterparts.
Our ranking of value is based on the quality of a program as defined in our per sticker price dollar. More specifically, we discount our quality score by the published tuition and fees charged by a school. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The value is determined by how much quality your dollar buys.
In our regional and nationwide rankings, out-of-state tution and fees are used in our calculations. Average in-state tuition and fees are used for our statewide rankings.
Top 10 Best Psychology Schools
Our 2023 rankings named Central Washington University the best value school in Washington for psychology students. CWU is a large public school located in the town of Ellensburg.
In-state tuition fees for undergraduate students at CWU are $8,685 per year. Psychology majors at CWU take out an average of $20,215 in student loans while working on their egree. For students who choose a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly student loan payment is $195.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend Western Washington University. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Best Value Psychology Schools in Washington list. Located in the city of Bellingham, WWU is a public college with a fairly large student population.
WWU undergraduate students pay an average of $8,703 in in-state tuition and fees each year. Psychology majors at WWU take out an average of $19,500 in student loans while working on their egree. Assuming that a graduate chooses a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly loan payment is $243.

Out of the 20 schools in Washington that were part of this year’s ranking, Eastern Washington University landed the # 3 spot on the list. EWU is a large public school located in the town of Cheney.
The average tuition and fees for an in-state undergraduate at EWU are $7,922 a year. While working on their degree, psychology majors at EWU accumulate an average of around $20,958 in student debt. This translates to an average monthly loan payment of $144, based on a 10-year repayment plan.

UW Tacoma undergraduate students pay an average of $12,196 in in-state tuition and fees each year. The average amount in student loans that psychology majors at UW Tacoma take out is $18,943. For students who choose a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly student loan payment is $150.
