To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Chemistry program at each school on the list.

The colleges and universities below are the most popular for chemistry majors pursuing a bachelor's degree.

Our analysis found University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to be the most popular school for chemistry students who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Illinois. Located in the small city of Champaign, UIUC is a public school with a very large student population.

About 49% of the students majoring in chemistry at the school are women while 51% are male.

After completing their Bachelor's Degree, chemistry graduates from UIUC carry an average student debt load of $19,580. Assuming that a graduate chooses a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly loan payment is $458.

Chicago, IL

Out of the 47 schools in Illinois that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Chicago landed the # 2 spot on the list. UChicago is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the large city of Chicago.

Of the 71 students majoring in chemistry at UChicago, 44% are male and 56% are female.
