Out of all the majors we analyze each year, library science was ranked #34 in the country. In fact 6,538 degrees and certificates were handed out in 2020-2021.

Our 2023 rankings named University of North Carolina at Greensboro the most popular school in the Southeast Region for library science students. UNC Greensboro is a fairly large public school located in the large city of Greensboro.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend University of South Carolina - Columbia. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Most Popular Library Science Schools in the Southeast Region list. Located in the midsize city of Columbia, UofSC is a public school with a very large student population.

With a ranking of #9, North Carolina Central University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for library science students. North Carolina Central University is a moderately-sized public school located in the city of Durham.
