Out of all the majors we analyze each year, history was ranked #23 in the country. In fact 32,731 degrees and certificates were handed out in 2020-2021.

There are lots of options to pick from today when trying to decide which program is right for you. This report analyzed 23 schools in the Southeast Region to see which ones were the most popular graduate certificate programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the History program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named American Public University System the most popular school in the Southeast Region for history students working on their graduate certificate. American Military University is a fairly large private for-profit school located in the fringe town of Charles Town.

About 21% of the students majoring in history at the school are women while 79% are male.
