Best Kansas Schools for Affordable Quality in History
Our 2023 rankings named Kansas State University the best value school in Kansas for history students. K -State is a very large public school located in the small city of Manhattan.
The average tuition and fees for an in-state undergraduate at K -State are $10,420 a year. History majors at K -State take out an average of $25,000 in student loans while working on their egree.
In addition to its best value ranking, and one of the reasons why the school is on the list, K -State is ranked #3 for overall quality for history in Kansas.

The excellent programs at University of Kansas helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best history schools in Kansas. Located in the city of Lawrence, KU is a public school with a fairly large student population.
In-state tuition fees for undergraduate students at KU are $11,166 per year. After completing their degree, history graduates from KU carry an average student debtload of $26,750.
