This report analyzed 16 schools in the United States to see which ones were the most popular online associate degree programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from schools with online programs.

Our 2023 rankings named Excelsior College the most popular online school in the United States for nursing students working on their associate degree. Located in the city of Albany, Excelsior College is a private not-for-profit college with a large student population.

Of the 1,522 students majoring in nursing at Excelsior College, 16% are male and 84% are female.

Nursing majors at Excelsior College take out an average of $23,429 in student loans while working on their Associate Degree.

Amarillo, TX

The in-demand online associate degree programs at Amarillo College helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best nursing schools in the United States. Located in the medium-sized city of Amarillo, Amarillo College is a public school with a moderately-sized student population.

About 85% of the students majoring in nursing at the school are women while 15% are male.

While working on their Associate Degree, nursing majors at Amarillo College accumulate an average of around $22,468 in student debt.
