The in-demand master’s degree programs at Eastern Illinois University helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular general English literature schools in Illinois. Located in the town of Charleston, EIU is a public school with a medium-sized student population.

About 80% of the students majoring in English at the school are women while 20% are male.
