This report analyzed 18 schools in the Rocky Mountains Region to see which ones were the most popular master's degree programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Engineering program at each school on the list.

The colleges and universities below are the most popular for engineering majors pursuing a master's degree.

Our analysis found University of Colorado Boulder to be the most popular school for engineering students who want to pursue a master’s degree in the Rocky Mountains Region . Located in the medium-sized city of Boulder, CU - Boulder is a public school with a fairly large student population.

Women make up 28% of the engineering majors at the school.

The in-demand master’s degree programs at Colorado School of Mines helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular engineering schools in the Rocky Mountains Region . Mines is a moderately-sized public school located in the large suburb of Golden.

Of the 249 students majoring in engineering at Mines, 70% are male and 30% are female.

Salt Lake City, UT

The in-demand master’s degree programs at University of Utah helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular engineering schools in the Rocky Mountains Region . Located in the medium-sized city of Salt Lake City, U of U is a public college with a fairly large student population.

Women make up 16% of the engineering majors at the school.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Colorado State University - Fort Collins. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Most Popular Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region list. Colorado State is a very large public school located in the midsize city of Fort Collins.

University of Idaho came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region ranking. Located in the town of Moscow, U of I is a public school with a large student population.

Of the 76 students majoring in engineering at U of I, 84% are male and 16% are female.

University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for engineering students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #7 on the list. Located in the city of Denver, CU Anschutz is a public school with a fairly large student population.

About 31% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 69% are male.

Brigham Young University - Provo came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region ranking. BYU is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the medium-sized city of Provo.

Of the 68 students majoring in engineering at BYU, 90% are male and 10% are female.
